About
The Author:
Sheila Pennington is a Toronto
psychotherapist and writer. She has a Ph.D. in
Counselling Psychology awarded by the University
of Toronto. Her work has been reported in local
and national newspapers and magazines. She has
been featured on many radio and television
programs across Canada, including CBC's The
Journal and CTV's Canada AM.
In addition to her private practice, she has
given workshops for clerics, academics and health
professionals and has spoken to numerous
professional groups in Canada, the US and Europe.
Her best selling book, *Healing Yourself:
Understanding How Your Mind Can Heal Your Body,
which was published by McGraw-Hill Ryerson was
based on scientific research completed for her
award winning Ph.D. thesis, "Living or
Dying: An Investigation of the Balance
Point".
The Dragon Within: A Tale of Self-Discovery and
Healing is an allegory for readers of all ages.
Dr. Pennington lives at her homes in Toronto,
Muskoka and the island of St. Vincent, with her
husband Ben, her beloved Collie dog Takhoda and
her magical cat Hermes.
